ESPN.com - Gundy fielding best defense in 2012?
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy knows it's a year of transition for his offense in 2012, but he hasn't been shy about setting the expectations high for the Cowboys' other unit.
I remember sitting down with Gundy for awhile after the Bedlam win against Oklahoma, and he mentioned something to the effect of, "We've got some athletes around here now that we haven't had at Oklahoma State in a long time -- maybe ever."
For the defense, that could pay off this season while the offense finds its stride.

Big 12 Champs Open Spring Practice Monday
Oklahoma State Football returns to practice Monday as the Cowboys open their spring workouts. OSU will have 15 spring practices as they build on the most successful season in school history. The Cowboys are coming off a 12-1 season and were the 2011 Big 12 Champions. Oklahoma State is looking at one of its most competitive springs in recent history with key positions available heading into 2012. Blackmon posts sub-4.50 40 at Oklahoma State pro day
All 32 NFL teams were represented Friday at the Oklahoma State Pro Day held inside Boone Pickens Stadium. Scouts, head coaches, front office executives and national media watch several former OSU standouts perform on the biggest stage of their young careers.
WR Justin Blackmon, who is highly considered to be a top 5 pick in April, showcased his abilities and locked his spot as the nation's top wide receiver. QB Brandon Weeden was impressive as the Weeden2Blackmon combination shined one final time in Stillwater. The impressive workouts created a buzz and excitement throughout the stadium. DE Jamie Blatnick was also noted as having a strong performance today for the NFL scouts.
