Randle Nominated for Running Back Performance of the Year

2011 All-Star Performances of the Year Announced on ESPN2 Super Bowl Weekend


CHICAGO – Oklahoma State’s sophomore tailback Joseph Randle is nominated for the Running Back Performance of the Year, Intersport announced today. The Running Back Performance of the Year is part of a four-month competition that lets fans determine which individual performances reign supreme during the 2011 college football season. The winners will be revealed during the two hour All-Star Football Challenge special airing at 7 p.m. ET Feb. 3 on ESPN2. In addition to recognizing the season’s top performances, the All-Star Football Challenge will feature college football’s biggest stars in a live skills challenge. In the 13 year history of the event, 41 first-round NFL draft picks have participated in the All-Star Football Challenge.

From now until the end of Bowl season, the two top running backs of the week will be featured on the All-Star Football Challenge Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AllStarFootball), along with two top individual performers among quarterbacks, receivers and defensive players. The top weekly vote-getter will proceed to the finals, which run Jan. 19-25.

Randle rumbled for a career-high 152 yards and four touchdowns in a dominating 59-24 win over Baylor. Randle had three touchdowns in the first half, including a 62 yard score to help the Cowboys maintain a 35-0 halftime lead.

The All-Star Football Challenge features the top college football players competing in a series of skills competitions that put their individual talents on display. Past participants include Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Santana Moss, Vince Young, Vernon Davis, Donovan McNabb, Edgerrin James, and many others.
