Oklahoma State Ranks Fourth In BCS Standings

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State checked in at No. 4 in the first Bowl Championship Series standings of the season announced Sunday evening. It is the highest debut and the highest overall position that OSU has reached in the BCS standings. OSU’s previous high was sixth in the first BCS standings of the 2008 season (Oct. 20).

“The recognition is great for our football program,” said OSU head coach Mike Gundy. “But we are only halfway through the season and things can change quickly. We have another tough road opponent this week at Missouri. That game needs to be our focus.”

The Cowboys join LSU as the only two schools in the country with two road wins over opponents ranked in the Associated Press top 25. OSU’s victories have come in its last two road games (at No. 8 Texas A&M and at No. 22 Texas).
