OSU Clinches Share of Big 12 Title
Oklahoma State has clinched a share of the 2011 Big 12 Conference Championship. The Cowboys are 10-1 on the year and 7-1 in league play. It's the first shared conference title for OSU since 1976 and will have an opportunity to be named outright champions with a win on Dec. 3 against in-state rival Oklahoma. OSU has never won an outright conference title in school history.
The Cowboys earned a share of the 1976 Big Eight Championship under head coach Jim Stanley. OSU was 9-3 that season with a 5-2 league record. The Cowboys won their last four games that season including a 49-21 victory over BYU in the Tangerine Bowl.
